About You
While my clients come from many walks of life, there are some populations that walk through my door more often than others and resonate with a somatic approach. Here are some of the “Yous” I have come to know and what they have come to work on. If any (or many, as is often the case) of these resonate, I encourage you to reach out to me.
Stress, Anxiety, and Overwhelm
There are a lot of very valid reasons for experiencing fear, worry and overwhelm. However, getting stuck in this state makes it hard to think, hard to make decisions, and hard to care for yourself and others. I can help you talk through your concerns and work with the anxious feelings in your body so you have greater access to moments of contentment, ease, and relaxation.
Trauma recovery and Boundary work
When talking about our experiences feels like too much, or even the idea of feeling our bodies seems unsafe, somatic counseling offers very small, empowering steps you can take toward reclaiming yourself, your boundaries, and staying in the present moment. Trauma-informed touch therapy offers survivors an experience of touch based on full consent and titration (accessing bit-by-bit).
grief, loss, and transition
Whether recent or long ago, experiences of grief, loss, and major transition are very overwhelming for our bodies as well as our hearts. Supporting the nervous system through the wide array of thoughts, emotions, and sensations accompanying these events helps us to feel connected and held at times we may feel all alone.
Spiritual and existential exploration
Perhaps you feel called to something yet find yourself unable to answer the call. Perhaps you are holding questions related to your sense of purpose and what is meaningful, or wondering if the life you are living is aligned with your values. Drawing from my background in spiritual counseling and psychosynthesis (spiritual psychology), I can join you in this wild, wonderful, soul-searching terrain.
